- Education Awards Empower Women — Our club fundraises throughout the year to provide grants and scholarships that support our mission to help women and girls achieve their individual and collective potential, realize their aspirations and lead their communities worldwide. SI Loomis Basin selected 2021 award winners for Soroptimist International (SI) Live Your Dream Award and Ruby Award as well as Del Oro Scholarship and teacher grants.

Share Information from Stand Up Placer — What can we do about domestic violence, sexual abuse and human trafficking? “Let others know that they can call Stand Up Placer for help,” according to Chivas Mays, Operations Manager and Fany Aguilera, Human Trafficking Services Coordinator, Stand Up Placer, who presented to our club on February 17.

Valentines for Koinonia Girls —To let the girls at Koinonia know we’re thinking about them, Bev and Shari Lynn put together Valentine’s Day gifts.

Volunteers Needed – Senior LIFE Center St. Patrick’s Meal — Our club will be cooking the annual St. Patrick’s Day meal for the Senior LIFE Center in Loomis on Wednesday, March 17.

Jackie is running for SIA President-Elect — Our club is so proud of Jackie who is running for president-elect of Soroptimist International of the Americas (SIA).

Member Wins Chamber Award — Congratulations to Toni who was recognized by the Loomis Chamber of Commerce at February 18 Awards Ceremony.

Save the Date for SNR Conference — Our club is part of the Sierra Nevada Region which includes clubs in northern California and Nevada. The 46th Annual Region Conference will be held virtually April 29 – May 1, 2021, rather than in Reno.

Soroptimist International will be 100 in 2021 — On October 3, 2021, clubs will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of Soroptimist.

Children’s Books Needed — Thanks to Rae and her husband, our club put up a Little Free Library at the Train Depot.

Support the Targeted Business Fundraiser — Since the club has not been to conduct the It’s in the Bag or Tostado Bingo fundraisers, club member are reaching out to individual businesses, less affected by COVID, and asking for donations.
- Switch to Amazon Smile – An Easy Fundraiser — Encourage your friends and family to switch to Amazon Smile program designating “Soroptimist International of Loomis Basin, CA,” as the recipient to help us raise funds.
