Soroptimist International of Loomis Basin’s 2023 has launched with a major success.  “It’s in the Bag,” our major fundraiser, was celebrated by all who attended.  A special “Thank You” to Chris Hebard-Summers for your leadership and to all members who dedicated their time, energy and commitment towards making this our Most Successful Event Ever!

The Soroptimist Awards Ceremony will soon follow for those who will benefit from our fundraising dedication.  We have all worked so unselfishly to make this celebration possible.

Many service programs are still scheduled in coming months: Human Trafficking Awareness, Acres of Hope and our Dream It Be It Program.  Be a part of what you can, the rewards are endless.

Karen joined the club in 2009 to make a difference in the community and served as our most recent past-president, keeping the club afloat during the pandemic. “I enjoy being on the awards, Dream It Be It and communication committees,” said Karen. “It is rewarding to see how Soroptimist is the spark that ignites women’s confidence to continue their education journey and change their path.”

Her consulting business, Marketing Action, Inc., has propelled clients to the fastest growing lists, initiated innovative projects for California Community Colleges and effectively gotten the word out for business services companies for over 25 years.

In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her husband and dog, taking nature photos, fishing in mountain lakes and spending time with friends. “I’m grateful for the amazing women I’ve met through the club,” said Karen. “Those friendships and making a difference together have enriched my life.”

All club members have been invited by Kathy Dunbar, District 4 Director, Sierra Nevada Region, to join Soroptimist members from other clubs attending the Leadership Summit on Feb. 11 from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm at Creekside Business Park, 11641 Blocker Dr., 2nd Floor, Auburn.

“We will be exploring ways to find the inner strengths and inclinations for leadership within your clubs and in your communities,” said Kathy.” This will be an interactive session…to develop new ways to encourage others to come together for a common cause.”The fee to attend is $30. Register here for the District 4 Leadership Summit
